David Furnish Says 'F*ck Off' to Madonna!

David Furnish's claws are out! After Sir Elton John lost out to Madonna at the Golden Globes for Best Original Song, John’s hubby stood by his man and launched a three-prong attack on the Material Girl, telling her to, "F*ck off."

After Madonna beat out John's Hello Hello from the film Gnomeo & Juliet with her song Masterpiece, that she wrote for period film W.E., Furnish wrote on his Facebook: "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!"

Yikes, them’s fighting words! But that wasn’t the only slam the Brit mustered. He continued, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is." (SIC)

Is Furnish just being a sore loser? Or was Madonna’s acceptance speech really that bad? I couldn't recall! During the awards show I was furiously working/eating the Chinese take out provided for our staff and only partially paid attention to her speech while chomping down on eggrolls, mostly noting that Lady Madonna’s boobs looks squished and her faux English accent seemed to morph into a Scottish accent. So I rewatched it. In the speech, Madge accepts the award, doing verbal summersaults about the work of art that was W.E. and thanking everyone in her film from the talented cast, to her manager who kept bugging her to do a song for her film, to "The Punisher" Harvey Weinstein. And then I remembered why she was even up there – she won for Best Original Song. SONG! Madonna speaks about her film in such a grand and lofty way, it’s as if she thinks she won the Globe for Best Picture Ever. It might be a good time to note that this movie was critically panned, getting a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. Masterpiece is just a one song … in a crappy movie, which is quite far from being a "masterpiece."

Yes, Madonna wrote, directed and edited W.E., so of course she is proud of her work. But, the speech is totally narcissistic, self-indulgent, self-obsessed and shows how out of touch with reality the pop star is.

So was her speech "embarrassing in its narcissism"? Yes, yes it was.

But do I still love the woman who shaped my childhood and gave me Like a Prayer, Like a Virgin and Holiday? Yes, yes I do.

Love her or hate her -- she is the great and powerful Madonna and she ain’t going nowhere. But, kudos to you, David Furnish for standing by your man and calling out a woman who in her eyes is next in line to be the Queen of England.
