Splitsville shocker! Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are throwing in the towel on their marriage after more than thirty years of matrimonial bliss.

The couple famously starred together on the classic sitcom "Taxi" and have run the production company, Jersey Films, which has developed such films as "Pulp Fiction," "Erin Brockovich," and "Freedom Writers." DeVito currently stars in the sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and Perlman is best known for her role as the wise cracking bar maid Carla Tortelli on the hit 80s sitcom "Cheers."

The couple, who married in 1982 are parents to three children: Lucy, 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, 24.

With the news of their split, the couple joins a growing list of Hollywood stars making jaws drop by going their separate ways. Here are some of the most shocking splits of the past year:

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries: Blink and you missed it! Not their dating relationship or even their wedding which were both exhaustively chronicled for her reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," but their very brief 72 day marriage which was over before the ink could dry on the wedding license. Just months after millions of fans watched the reality couple walk down the aisle, the bride filed for divorce on Halloween 2011. Thankfully, their divorce is the gift that keeps on giving.

Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Maria Shriver: They seemed like the perfect couple for more than two decades. She was the bombshell reporter from a privileged family. He was the immigrant bodybuilder turned actor who ruled the big screen. It wasn't until the news leaked that he had fathered a secret love child with a member of the household staff years earlier that would finally sink the couple in mid-2011. To add fuel to the fire, the actor has breathed new life into the story with the publication of his new book, "Total Recall", and its accompanying press tour.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher: She was the iconic cougar with her adorable cub right up until she announced her intent to show him the door after six years of marriage. Those pesky infidelity rumors were the final straw for the hot mom-of-three who cast her boy toy out in the cold in November 2011. She said of the split, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life." Don't worry about Ashton, he landed on his feet with the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men" and in the waiting arms of his former "That 70's Show" co-star Mila Kunis.
