It's party time in Hollywood as everyone gears up for the Emmy Awards coming on Sunday, September 23. There have been plenty of excuses to celebrate, from Cointreau's recent Search for the Cointreau Ambassador of Libations bash at the Mondrian Hotel Skybar (Alex Goode from Mixology 101 took the crown) to the L. A. Confidential Magazine Pre-Emmy Party held on the rooftop of the London Hotel.
But the real hot ticket on September 20 was for the People Magazine StyleWatch "Hollywood Denim" party at Palihouse, where pretty gals dressed down (just a bit!) and gathered to check out a wall of denim jeans that the mag's October issue has dubbed the best of the best.
Newly single Jennie Garth led the charge, looked slim and youthful in head-to-toe black, while gorgeous Dania Ramirez got edgy in a cool pair of white jeans embellished with brown leather patches. Danny Masterson, of the hit series "Men at Work," did the DJ duties, perhaps hired because his spin name is "DJ Mom Jeans"!
Supermodel-heiress turned actress Lydia Hearst didn't look anything like a mom; instead, she went for country-girl style in faded jeans and a plaid shirt, one of the hot looks for fall. Of course, she'd look incredible in a gunnysack.
Plenty of other fashionable gals came out to the private club, where tiny Ahi tuna bites and delicate lettuce cups filled with Chinese chicken were served; no sliders for this slim crowd! We spotted Katie Cassidy, Lacey Chabert, Charlotte Ross, Annie Ilonzeh, Taryn Manning and even a guy or two (like Jonathan Sadowski and Adam Busch) jumped into the largely female fray).
But for those hoping for a goodie bag stuffed with a pair of new jeans, disappointment awaited. No such luck at this party, despite it being sponsored by Guess? Jeans. But with Emmy swag suites happening all over town, there's sure to be a few pairs of jeans up for celebrity grabs before the weekend extravaganza is over!
