Shawn Johnson got some very critical commentary from Judge Len Goodman.

You don't mess with the samba!

That was the message on Monday night's "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars," when judge Len Goodman called out Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and her partners Derek Hough and Mark Ballas after they danced a trio samba that looked more like a tribal dance featuring Simba.

Goodman slammed the threesome for taking a tad too much artistic license. The judge told Johnson his job was to score a samba.

"It was very self-indulgent," Len said. "There was very little samba content. It's a very critical week. Shawn, if you go home tomorrow, don't blame me. Blame those two."

Even Bruno Tonioli said, "I've got jungle fever … (but) it wasn't really a samba."

While there was plenty of booing in the ballroom after Goodman scored them with a mere 7 points, Carrie Ann Inaba gleefully gave the trio a perfect 10, saying, "Sometimes you have to take a risk!"

Later, Hough defended his choreography, saying the all-star season is all about the fans, who have already seen everything. "It's all-star season. I don't necessarily want to go with what's safe," Hough said. "I want to push the boundaries and try to do things differently."

"This whole season is dedicated to the really loyal 'Dancing With the Stars' fans," he added. "They've seen everything. They've seen thousands of sambas, they've seen it all. We just wanted to bring something different for them and keep them entertained."
