Tuesday night on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" week 5 results show, it was a shocking elimination as one of television's most beloved moms was sent back into syndication. Florence Henderson, best known for her role as mom Carol Brady in the 1970's sitcom "The Brady Bunch" was sent home after her tango with partner Corky Ballas to the classic "Brady" TV theme. It was a story many fans didn't expect to see.

The 76-year-old Henderson and her partner Ballas scored 21 out of 30 points for their rather robotic tango on Monday night, beating out Disney star Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Schwimmer, as well as Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas who scored a dismal 18 out of 30.

Because it was one of Henderson and Ballas' highest score weeks- and because Palin scored so poorly- many "DWTS" fans assumed that Palin would be going home. But the viewers spoke and it was our beloved Flo who got the heave-ho.

Classy lady that she is, Henderson took the news well and even commented that in her 50 years on television, "Dancing With The Stars" was one of the greatest shows she had ever worked on.

Tuesday night's "DWTS" results show started off with host Tom Bergeron's announcement that couples Massey and Schwimmer and Palin and Ballas were safe. Once that tidbit was revealed, it was hard to imagine that Henderson would be safe, since both of those couples scored lower than her and Corky Ballas.

But the "DWTS" powers that be tried to trick us, even giving us the scare that this season's power couple Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were in trouble. The other couple named "in jeopardy" was NBA star Rick Fox and his partner, Cheryl Burke.

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani,Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya, were all let off the hook and told they were safe. So for a few nail biting moments Henderson was in the hot seat against some of this season's best dancers, but it was she who was given her walking papers.

Other highlights of Tuesday night's "DWTS" results show included a performance by singer Jason Derulo ("In My Head", "Georgia On My Mind") and Latin pop star Shakira, who shook her booty to her song "Loca."

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced a redo of their quickstep to the "Friends" theme, which Judge Len Goodman dubbed on Monday night, "Without a doubt [their] best dance."

Next week on "Dancing With the Stars," it's time to plug in the amps for rock 'n' roll week. And to think I was hoping to see Mrs. Brady in Kiss platforms...

The next episode of "Dancing With the Stars" will air on Monday, October 25th at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
