Where in the world is Damon Wayans?

The 52-year old member of the legendary Wayans comedy family was noticeably absent for an "Oprah's Next Chapter" interview that featured his four famous siblings, but his son did turn up to represent the fam.

While Damon Sr.'s absence was not explained during the broadcast (his son, Damon Wayans Jr. joked, "My dad is very supportive, he's always there … well, usually"), his sibs filled in the blanks on what it was like growing up in the comical clan.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey had a hard time maintaining her composure with the group of seven first and second generation Wayans' that included former "In Living Color" stars Keenen, Shawn, Marlon, and Kim Wayans. In addition to Damon Jr., Damien Dante Wayans and Craig Wayans were also on board.

The most serious of the group was Keenen Ivory Wayans, who described growing up in poverty (the family of 12 lived on $12,000 a year) and got philosophical. ("I've been watching 'Lifeclass'!" he joked.)

"You go through life thinking that you control everything," Keenen told Oprah. "Then, there comes this time that you realize you don't control anything. I feel that I've become a better person and better to all the people around me because I realize I don't control things."

He also explained that comedy is "a mask for pain."

"People who are innately funny are innately disturbed," he said.

The sibs also dished on scooping up A-list stand up pals for their early 1990's sketch comedy series "In Living Color" -- including Jim Carrey and David Alan Grier -- when no one else would hire them.

Second generation Wayans cousins Damien Dante and Craig talked about their new BET show called, well, "Second Generation Wayans." The scripted show is loosely based on their real lives.

"It's about 75 percent based on our lives," Damien said. "Everything's embellished for the sake of comedy."

Damien also revealed that he and cousin Craig were "of that project generation."

"We knew what it was like to have not," he said.

Unlike his cousins, Damon Wayans Jr. had a privileged upbringing. The "Happy Endings" star joked, "Let me tell you about private school… "

As for Damon's famous dad's whereabouts for the "Oprah's Next Chapter' interview, Marlon Wayans tweeted: "@DamonkWayans had important meetings he could not move that's why he was absent for the Oprah interview."

Like we said, where in the world is he?

"Oprah's Next chapter" airs on Sundays at 9/8c on OWN.
