The charges stem from a May 21 accident, in which Brown refused to give the driver he rear-ended his license number and left the scene without providing proof of insurance. He faces up to six months in prison if convicted.
Brown is currently on probation from his assault on Rihanna in 2009, for which he served no jail time. It will be up to a judge to decide whether the new misdemeanor charges violate his probation.
