Chris Brown is single, ladies. The singer broke off his relationship with his girlfriend of one year, Karrueche Tran to "focus on his career."
"I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives," he said in a statement.
We figured this would happen eventually - though we suspect the pair has been secretly hooking up for ages. Why do we think that? Their behavior over the past year has been pretty suspect.
They Been Spotted Together
Breezy's breakup with Tran comes after he was spotted hanging out with Rihanna in various NYC hotspots this week. First, Brown and Rihanna were photographed together at hotspot Griffin in NYC - and sources say they were kissing, too.
Then, the pair was spotted looking pretty intimate during Jay-Z's Wednesday night concert at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. They don't look like just "friends," do they?
Rihanna Takes Every Opportunity to Talk About Brown
You know how when you like someone you'll find every excuse to work them into a conversation? Rihanna has been doing that a lot lately. The "Battleship" actress has talked at length about Brown in multiple interviews this year.
The most notable of those interviews was her chat with Oprah Winfrey on "Oprah's Next Chapter."
"It's awkward. It's awkward because I still love him," she told Oprah. "My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face, and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that, suppress that, but interpret it, understand it, and know that's not going to go away."
They Collaborated Together on a Sexually Charged Song
RiRi and Breezy raised more than a few eyebrows when they collaborated on her suggestive song "Birthday Cake" earlier this year.
"I reached out to him about doing 'Birthday Cake' because that's the only person that really-it made sense to do the record," she told Ryan Seacrest in March. "Just as a musician despite everything else that was going to be the person."
Drake and Brown Fought Over Rihanna
The Barbados-born singer was reportedly the catalyst behind the dangerous fight between Brown and Drake in June. It's alleged that Brown and his entourage flew off the handle when Drake sent over a note that said something to the effect of
"I'm f****** the love of your life, deal with it," according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
Yikes. Sounds like Breezy is getting the last laugh, though. We just hope this doesn't end badly.
