Charlie Sheen Shuts Down His Twitter Account - 3 Celebrities Who May Want to Follow Suit

Few celebrities have ever generated the amount of buzz when they joined Twitter as Charlie Sheen did. To be fair though, he was also in the middle of an epic public meltdown at the time. Fighting with both CBS and "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre, Sheen was seen all over TV and the media giving sometimes bizarre and cryptic interviews that alluded to things like "tiger's blood" and "winning." He was a one-man meme factory, and when he hit Twitter, he had millions of fans followers over night.

Now though, Sheen is ready to move on. The "Anger Management" star told his followers over the weekend that he wasn't "getting anything out of" of the micro-blog site anymore." In his last Tweet to his eight million followers, Sheen said, "reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out." Charlie may have quit Twitter on his own terms, but over site's history, there have been a few celebrities who have had to apologize or retract major blunders in their tweets, and perhaps these three celebrities should consider quitting Twitter as well.

Amanda Bynes - The former Nickelodeon star has an interesting relationship with Twitter. Mostly her tweets look like every other star's, promoting a project or thanking her fans for their support. But on occasion, she's used it to tweet out missives to President Obama for him to fire the police officer who arrested her for DUI earlier this year, or to quit acting. She hasn't tweeted since May though, so maybe she's already taken herself off Twitter.

50 Cent - The rapper's entire career and persona has always been one that skirts taboos and flaunts controversy. His twitter account has been no exception. He's angered people with his jokes about abortion and President Obama's stimulus package not including "pimps and hoes." Something tells us though, that he's not going anywhere and that we can expect some more head-scratching tweets before it's all said and done.

Courtney Love - Courtney is another one of those celebrities that has never shied away from speaking her mind. Kurt Cobain's widow has gotten into public arguments with her daughter Frances on her Twitter account, and her angry tweet about fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir sparked a lawsuit that was settled out of court for just under half a million dollars. None of this seems to have phased Love though; she's still tweeting away.
