Sarah Jessica Parker

When it comes to weird celebrity wedding stories, Michael Jackson may take the cake. In 1994, the King of Pop married Lisa Marie Presley in a hushed-up Caribbean ceremony. When the judge asked him "Do you take this woman to be your wife?'' the lipstick-wearing groom replied, "Why not?"

Since then, many other celebrities have moonwalked in Jackson's offbeat footsteps.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a black ruffled dress as a ruse to fool the media when she married Matthew Broderick. Though black is typically more associated with funerals than weddings, the color proved lucky for the "Sex and the City" star. The fashionista and her Ferris Bueller alter ego just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.

Angelina Jolie, whose upcoming wedding to Brad Pitt has been overshadowed by her recent double mastectomy, also wore unusual wedding garb the first time she sauntered down the aisle. The then-21-year-old fledgling actress married Jonny Lee Miller of "Trainspotting" fame in 1996 wearing skin-tight rubber pants and a white silk blouse with her groom's name written across the front in her own blood.

Ten years later, Pamela Anderson did Jolie one better by wearing a white string bikini at her wedding to musician Kid Rock. "She was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen -- like a modern-day Brigitte Bardot," said Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon of the "Baywatch" babe.

The maritime wedding, which took place aboard a yacht in Saint-Tropez, went smoother than that of Anderson's dogs the year before on a Malibu beach. The surreal nuptials between the star's Golden Retriever and Chihuahua was upstaged by Sasha Baron Cohen, who crashed the wedding in a raft posing as fictional Kazakhstani journalist Borat. Though we're not sure how long the canines' marriage lasted, Anderson and Kid Rock divorced before the ink dried on their marriage certificate. The "Rebel Soul" singer later explained to Howard Stern, "Getting married kicks ass; being married sucks."

Surprisingly, the woman who habitually overshares her lavish lifestyle on her GOOP blog had a wedding that was so low-key hardly anyone even knew about it. Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin tied the knot in a secret ceremony at a hotel in Santa Barbara to which not even their family members were invited. Could it be even back then the Coldplay frontman did not want to be seen with his famous bride?

In contrast, comedienne Sherri Shepherd had a splashy Kardashian-style wedding the same summer as the reality TV star, complete with its own cable TV wedding special. "The View" diva not only had a whopping eight bridesmaids, her six-year-old son Jeffrey walked her down the aisle. The bash took place at Chicago's posh Fairmont Hotel, and for dessert the comedienne and her TV writer groom, Lamar Sally, dazzled guests with a seven-tier red velvet wedding cake blinged up with fresh orchids and sparkling crystal.

As for Parker and her black wedding dress, the "I Don't Know How She Does It" star now regrets her morbid fashion choice. If she had it to do over again, she told a reporter, "(I would) white it up. I'd wear a beautiful, proper wedding dress, like I should have worn on that day."
