Kim Kardashian

We like to stay up on the trends, but sometimes it's hard to know what works and what doesn't. Thankfully, we have celebrities to try out the fashions first and let us see how the looks go from runway to real life.

That said, we're not sold on the current weird hemline trend - and these celebrity ensembles aren't helping things at all.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is not about to go comfortable during a flight. Need proof? Take a look at the white pantsuit she wore to travel from Los Angeles to Paris last month.

Kardashian later posted on her blog that the ensemble is a mixture of a Mugler coat and Chloe pants. We just call it… interesting.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry wasn't content to wear a one-shoulder dress to the Chicago premiere of her new movie "The Call." Nope, the actress wore a black dress with one large and one small shoulder cutout.

It looks amazing, though Berry could wear a paper bag and look amazing.

The actress has been taking risks with her fashion lately. She wore a Bond-esque Versace gown to the 2013 Oscars. Not that she minds, though.

"I like getting dressed up. I'm that girl," she said in March. "Now I get to do it through my daughter, and she was so excited to see me put on that shiny dress, she couldn't stop touching it, and was like, 'Oh mommy!'"

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie went way asymmetrical during Paris Fashion Week with a white mini and moto jacket. We like the look on Richie, but we're not sure anyone else could pull this daring look off.

However, the "Fashion Star" mentor claims that - despite her eclectic style - she's all about simplicity when it comes to fashion.

"I really, really love my Helmut Lang white T-shirts," she told Marie Claire in February.

Heidi Klum

"Project Runway" host Heidi Klum took things to serious extremes when she wore a plunging - like seriously plunging - gold gown to the 2013 Academy Awards. The dress was almost bordering on obscene.

"A lot of people are complimenting my dress, but they aren't looking into my eyes when they say it," Klum told the New York Post. "I'm worried about it because my boobs could fall into my dinner, so I'm being very careful."

Thank God for double-sided tape, right?
