Pregnant Kate Middleton had a scary moment during a St. Patrick's Day parade in Hampshire, England: She almost fell. The Duchess of Cambridge managed to get her boot heel stuck in a drainage pipe.
Thankfully, she didn't trip - and she kept a good sense of humor while she freed her foot.
We love our high-heeled shoes since they make our legs look amazing, but they can definitely pose a risk of injury or foot problems. Need proof? Check out the problems these celebrities encountered because of their affinity for the tall shoes.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker is almost as known for her signature Manolo Blahnik heels as she is for "Sex and the City."
But, not anymore: The actress' feet are permanently damaged from her constant heel wearing. The mom of three found out the terrible news when she twisted her ankle filming "I Don't Know How She Does It."
"I went to a foot doctor and he said, 'Your foot does things it shouldn't be able to do. That bone there.... You've created that bone,'" she told Net-a-Porter's retail magazine. "'It doesn't belong there.' The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost."
She still wears heels for events, but otherwise it's flats.
Beyonce is known for her fierce stage style. She even contributes part of her Sasha Fierce personality to her affinity for high heels, and she's definitely a pro with the tall footwear.
"As a child I trained myself to dance in very high heels," she told W magazine. At 13, in Destiny's Child, we were told to wear heels, but at first we couldn't walk in them. We couldn't keep our knees straight. But we learned, and that became the image of Destiny's Child: so young and so glamorous."
She also had a rule: Her dancers have to wear heels whenever she does.
That doesn't mean she's immune to the problems that come with wearing heels. The singer famously fell down the stairs during an Orlando performance in 2007. Always the professional, she got right back up without missing a beat.
Jennifer Lopez also had an unfortunate falling incident - and, ironically, it happened while she performed her ode to expensive high heels, "Louboutins."
That incident hasn't changed her love for heels, though.
"I love fashion. I always have since I was little," Lopez once said. "It's always been something that is fun for me."
