Jordan Catalano is finally catching up!

Nearly 20 years after Claire Danes won her first Golden Globe award for her role as teen Angela Chase on the 1990s series "My So Called Life," her former TV boyfriend has nabbed his own gold from the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Jared Leto -- who played Danes' teen boyfriend in the short-lived TV series -- won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor in a movie for "Dallas Buyers Club" at the 71st edition of the awards show on Sunday night. The 42-year-old actor beat out Barkhad Abdi of "Captain Phillips," Daniel Bruhl of "Rush," Bradley Cooper of "American Hustle," and Michael Fassbender, "12 Years a Slave" for the award.

If you haven't seen Leto since his days as the dimwitted Jordan on the ABC one-season wonder, you may wonder where he's been all these years. The answer: On tour with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

"I didn't make a film for almost six years. I was pursuing other dreams," the actor said during his Globes acceptance speech. "And I just have to say it: it's more than an honor to come back and have this love and this support. I never expected it. I never even dreamed of it."

Meanwhile, Danes has been living the dream for decades. She won her first Golden Globe in 1995 for her role as ultra-sensitive Angela on "MSCL," beating out seasoned stars Kathy Baker, Jane Seymour, Angela Lansbury and Heather Locklear in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category. The young actress famously forgot to thank her parents during her acceptance speech, but was able to make up for it more than 15 years later when she won the coveted award again, for her role on Showtime's "Homeland."

During her 2011 Globes acceptance speech Danes said, "I first won this award when I was 15 for 'My So-Called Life' and I was utterly stunned and overwhelmed as one is, and the first thing I did is when I left the stage was burst into tears because I realized I had forgotten to thank my parents."

That year she brought her mom Carla to the ceremony and remembered to thank her 'rents for their love and support.

Twenty years after "My So Called Life," Leto will have to do a little less touring and a lot more acting if he wants to truly catch up to his old co-star. In addition to her "MSCL" win and two wins for her work on "Homeland," Danes won another Golden Globe in 2010 for her starring role in HBO's "Temple Grandin."
