The Bud Light Hotel concert entertained Super Bowl fans with performances by 50 Cent, Lil Jon and Pitbull. Lil Jon opened the show and included a brief cameo with Nelly (who came on stage and hugged Lil Jon during his performance), and 50 Cent also brought friends up with him. Boxer Floyd Mayweather ran out with a bedazzled backpack that he unzipped to reveal bundles of $100 bills. It never hurts to remind your audience of the benefits of talent. But the most crowd-rousing moment may have been Pitbull’s mysterious goodbye after his set.

While he was on stage, Pitbull switched from English to Spanish during his farewell. The audience was riled up in response to his message, where he said in no uncertain terms that he doesn’t care if people like him or not. He kept his trademark shades on throughout.

In addition to his own songs, Pitbull made the most of favorites from other artists. He sampled the immediately identifiable opening of Guns & Roses’ classic, “Sweet Child of Mine.” He also made ample use of “I Gotta Feeling” from the Black Eyed Peas, and included an entertaining rendition of “Jump in the Line (Shake, Shake Senora),” which will never fail to conjure memories of the movie “Beetlejuice” and Winona Ryder belting out the tune.

No one forgot the OTHER reason everyone was gathered in Indianapolis. 50 Cent wore his Giants hat during the concert, and Lil Jon threw out team t-shirts (though he claimed to have a tough time finding a Giants fans in the audience).
