Britney Spears said goodbye to one of her contestant's on "The X Factor" on Thursday (as Diamond White was eliminated from the competition), and Brit says that though she's happy to still have contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar in the game, the evening was bittersweet.
"It's a little disappointing," Britney told Access Hollywood of 13-year-old Diamond getting the boot following the show on Thursday. "I gave her a big hug."
While Diamond has reached the end of the "X Factor" road, the Britney has high hopes for the aspiring artist's musical future.
"She's going to go far," Britney said of the Detroit native. "I think she knows, she has a good personality and she has a good self-esteem thing going on, so that's good."
As for life beyond the FOX reality show for Britney, the "Scream and Shout" singer turned 31 on Sunday, and told Access her birthday plans were especially mellow this year.
"I did nothing," she said, laughing. "I went to dinner with my kids and that's it!"
"The X Factor" returns with the Final 4 on Wednesday at 8/7 on FOX.
