Bravo Announces Four More Scripted Projects, Including a Heathers Reboot
Bravo has added four more scripted projects to its programming slate, including a reboot of the '80s film Heathers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The reboot of the cult flick will take place 20 years later and focus on the daughter of Winona Ryder's character Veronica, who goes head-to-head with the new generation of mean girls called the Ashleys — who are also the daughters of the surviving Heathers. The Big C's Jenny Bicks will write and executive-produce.

"Through our growing slate of scripted development, we plan to build upon the success of our award-winning unscripted programming, accessing and exploring new worlds and characters while still engaging the same affluent and pop culture savvy audience that watches the Real Housewives and Top Chef," Andrew Wang, vice president of scripted development and production at Bravo said. "We're excited to partner with such high-caliber talent in developing TV that pushes boundaries conceptually and thematically while still telling a fun story in the way that our audiences have come to expect from us."
Apartment is about two siblings in their 20s who inherit an apartment from their late mother. After learning the home was where their mom had an 18-year affair, the siblings start renting the place out to people who also want to engage in extramarital affairs. Gossip Girl's Jessica Queller will write and executive-produce, along with Go On's Karey Burke and Todd Holland.
The Darlings, based on the novel by Christina Alger, follows a high-society family from New York City's Upper East Side who becomes involved in a financial scandal. Lights Out's Stu Zicherman will write an executive-produce with Bored to Death's Sarah Condon.
Bravo announces two scripted series, Top Chef and Real Housewives spin-offs
All American Girl will take place over three decades and revolve around three women who all work for a magazine throughout different time periods. The series will focus on the changing points of view about women in the workplace and feminism. Jenni Ross, who based the project on her mother's career as a fashion editor for Seventeen magazine in the '70s, will write and co-executive-produce with Chris and Paul Weitz. Andrew Miano will executive-produce.
Rita, adapted from the Danish series of the same name, is about an outspoken private school teacher who struggles to raise her three teen kids at home. Grey's Anatomy's Krista Vernoff will write and executive-produce, along with Mikkel Bondesen and Henrik Bastin.
