Ever wonder how much cash a Hollywood A-lister like Brad Pitt carries in his wallet? Apparently, $1,100 big ones.

The exact amount has been revealed not because Pitt was bragging — that's not his style — but because he used it in his latest act of kindness on Thanksgiving Day. According to People, Pitt donated all the money in his wallet, which happened to be $1,100, to a fundraiser for the U.K.'s Southampton General Hospital neonatal unit. The BBC reported that Pitt made the donation when a woman named Tricia Wilson-Hughes was soliciting donations from the crew of Pitt's film "Wold War Z," which was filming in Dorset near a gift shop where Hughes works. Hughes approached Pitt's bodyguard for a contribution, and was stunned when he returned with Pitt's sizeable offering a few minutes later.

"I couldn't believe it, I was completely dumbstruck," Hughes said. "He said if he had more he would have given it. I said honestly that is more than enough, but if he wants to do anything in the future that is absolutely fine. You hear negative stories about A-listers but I won't hear a wrong word against him, I am in awe of him."

Hughes' friend, Karley Gallagher, the 23-year-old mother of the little boy who inspired Hughes' efforts, explained that she was moved by Pitt's generosity.

"The fundraiser had finished, and I got a phone call from my best friend, who said, 'We have had a small donation,'" Gallagher said. "I thought she was messing about and was going to say, 'My dad's given you a fiver' or something, then she said, 'It's from Brad Pitt!'" "He said that he had seen the fundraiser mentioned in the local papers and seen my fliers and thought it was a really great cause and was just sorry he couldn't have been there," she said. "The silver lining is that Zachary is home and alive. ... To have Brad assist us is more than we could ever have wished for."

Pitt's known for his compassion, and has given to many, many causes before, along with his equally charitable fiancée, Angelina Jolie. Pitt singlehandedly founded the Make It Right Foundation to build sustainable houses in New Orleans after 2005's devastating Hurricane Katrina. The Jolie-Pitt Foundation gave $500,000 to help the city of Joplin, Missouri, a neighbor of Pitt's hometown of Springfield, recover from a tornado last year. In 2010, they gave $1 million to Doctors Without Borders in the wake of the massive earthquake that struck Haiti, and, in 2008, their foundation gave $2 million to the Global Health Committee to start a center for medical, educational, and social services for children affected by tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia, which they modeled after a center another one of their donations helped to build in Cambodia. The list goes on and on.

We should all probably stop making fun of him for that Chanel ad about now...
