Beyoncé rocked a rather shocking look for the opening night of her opening night of her Mrs. Carter world tour -- a sparkly bodysuit adorned with fake, glitter-covered nipples.
The bizarre bodysuit can be seen here. Adding the fake nipples was probably supposed to sex the look up a little, but the result could lead to Queen Bey getting ridiculed for resorting to such a trashy trick to get attention. Or maybe the singer will actually start the latest breast-related fashion trend.
The Daily Mail recently asked this very pressing question: "Is braless the new side boob?" The site points to stars like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rihanna, and Charlize Theron who have stepped out with visible nipples. However, Beyoncé could be starting the next big thing by getting the best of both worlds -- she can show off her fake nipples while keeping covered up and still getting plenty of support for her girls.
Strangely, Queen Bey isn't the only celebrity who has adorned a pair of fake nipples to get attention. Here's a look at a few other stars that have rocked them in different ways:
This host of the MTV Awards suffered the strangest double nip-slip ever when part of her dress fell down to reveal two fake nipples on the same breast. She was talking about body image issues, but all anyone could focus on was her bogus bonus body part.
This actress' Oscar dress had the audience wondering whether her tacky, wacky wardrobe malfunction was the result of a chill in the air or unfortunately-placed dress darts. Judging from photos of the dress, it looks like darts simply gave the illusion of Anne's nipples making an appearance, but it didn't stop "les nipperables" from trending on Twitter.
This model made fake nipples and prosthetic breasts a part of one of her crazy Halloween costumes in 2011. Her very hairy look was meant to represent the "link between man and ape" and was just as realistic and intricate as the primate costumes featured in the "Planet of the Apes" movies.
Even guys have gotten in on the fake nipple trend. During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Bradley shocked Ellen's audience by revealing the third nipple on his chest. But then he revealed a fourth nipple on his arm and a fifth one on his leg, making it pretty obvious that his extra appendages were just fakes meant to get a laugh.
This actor's fake nipples also became a joke, but he probably didn't want them to. Much ado has been made about the fake nipples that were added to Batman's costume in the 1997 movie "Batman & Robin," But the Cloon won't claim any responsibility for the decision to include these anatomical bits as part of the Bat's ab-tastic outfit. During an interview on "Inside the Actor's Studio," he stated, "They put nipples on the batsuit. I didn't know they would do that." So at least fanboys can't trash Clooney for that.
Maybe Queen Bey should learn a lesson from these other celebrities' experiences with fake nipples -- they're great for getting laughs, but they'll result in nothing but ridicule if you try to look serious or sexy while wearing them.
