Bethenny Frankel: How I Saved My Marriage
Rumors have been swirling that Bethenny’s rocky marriage is headed straight for divorce. In a new interview, Bethenny sets the record straight and explains how she is working to save her marriage.
On the third season of Bethenny Ever After, Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy‘s explosive fights indicated that they were on the fast track to divorce. “I want to say it’s been amazing, but it hasn’t been that way at all,” Bethenny revealed to People. “Our relationship has definitely been tested. It doesn’t come easy for us.”
Although the couple looked like they were headed straight for divorce, they were able to turn things around. Bethenny and Jason had their first breakthrough moment while visiting their two-year-old daughter Bryn‘s pre-school art class last spring. When a joyful Bryn proudly showed her parents her first picture, the couple was overcome with emotion.
“Jason and I looked at each other and whispered ‘I love you.’ There’s a bond between us,” she explained.
After that, the couple realized that they both needed to change and work harder to save their marriage. ”You have to work for everything,” Bethenny said. “Marriage should not be any different.”
When Bethenny suffered a miscarriage earlier this year, Jason served as her emotional support which helped strengthen their relationship even more. “I found out it was a girl,” she admits. “I thought about Bryn having a little sister, and them in the park and I would just picture it… what could have been.”
Bethenny doesn’t want divorce to be an option for her and Jason. ”In Hollywood, people just bolt. They go for the bigger, better thing. But I don’t want to run,” she said. “I don’t have a backup plan. Jason’s a great father and an amazing partner. Without him, life as I know it couldn’t happen.”
As far as television goes, Bethenny is sticking strictly to her talk show. “I’m done with putting my personal life and family on reality television. Enough about me. It’s like when you wear an outfit with cleavage it’s good, but when you walk out topless, it’s too much. I don’t want to take it all off.”
“We are all in a good place. We’re renting a house on the beach. I’m finally ready to become a housewife,” Bethenny revealed. ”My business doesn’t keep me warm at night. I want to be with Jason. We are going to make this work. No matter what.”
