White is a very difficult color to pull off, but that didn't stop a handful of celebs from donning white gowns to the 2013 Golden Globe Awards on January 13. Although they all tried to look their best, there were some who looked stunning from head-to-toe and others who missed the mark. So who wore the best white gowns at the Golden Globes and who should have made more of an effort?

Tina Fey

The co-host of the Golden Globes did the show justice by wearing a gorgeous white L'Wren Scott ankle length strapless gown that had a black lace floral overlay. She paired the look with black pumps and a black clutch. Her hair looked absolutely perfect in soft flowing waves. It was definitely one of her best red carpet looks.

Lea Michele

The "Glee" starlet rocked the red carpet in a white embellished Elie Saab halter gown that had a thigh-high slit up the front and a slight train. Although her hair looked lovely down and wavy, it would have looked better with this dress if it was in an updo. She completed her look with dangling earrings, a bracelet, low-key makeup and white strappy heels.

Anne Hathaway

The "Les Miserables" actress, who won an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, wore a white Chanel strapless gown that had slight peplum detailing. She looked beautiful, but bland. The gown would have looked much better if it had crystal detailing around the waist and a necklace wouldn't have hurt. Other than a few bracelets and stud earrings, there's nothing else to the ensemble and it looks way too plain.

Julianne Hough

The singer/dancer/actress walked the red carpet wearing a white tulle Monique Lhuillier gown that had gold embellishments sprinkled heavily across the bodice and sparingly across the rest of the dress. The dress is lovely, however, the hair is not. She wore her hair in a pompadour and undoubtedly tried to mix sweet and edgy, but it just looked ridiculous. The entire look would have been much better had she went softer with the makeup and slicked her hair back into a bun.

Which white gown is your favorite from the 2013 Golden Globe Awards?
