The 2012 Emmy Awards took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles September 23, and while everyone was anxious to see who would walk away with awards, fashion was, as always, a major focus. Although the ladies usually get the most feedback for their style, the guys deserve attention as well. While some guys deserve applause for their appearance, others get two big thumbs down. So who were the best and worst dressed guys at the 2012 Emmy Awards?
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
The "Modern Family" funny guy looked fantastic in a black suit, black shoes and a white dress shirt. He was also sporting a fantastic plaid bow tie that has important significance. Along with his fiance, Justin Mikita, the pair started the Tie the Knot foundation which sells stylish bow ties. Proceeds from the sale of the bow ties goes to organizations that support and fight for marriage equality. Congratulations to the couple who recently announced their engagement.
The actor from "The Big Bang Theory" unfortunately faltered with his fashion sense at the 2012 Emmys. He wore gray pants, white dress shirt, black skinny tie, black shoes and a blue velvet jacket with gray lapel. The jacket doesn't look like it fits well and overall, it also doesn't match well with his style.
The "Dancing With the Stars" judge completely failed with his Emmy night look. He walked the red carpet in too-tight black pants, black shoes, dark gray skinny tie, white dress shirt and a light gray patterned jacket that had a dark gray lapel. The style is severely off and the jacket, like the rest of his outfit, looks too tight.
The actor stepped out in a black suit with a black vest, black shoes and a white dress shirt that had the first few buttons undone. The problem with the look is that his jacket was way too big and not properly tailored and the open buttons look sloppy. His date for the evening was his wife. Christine Baumgartner.
The "Mad Men" hottie gets our vote for the best dressed of the guys. He walked the red carpet in a black tux, black shoes white dress shirt and black bowtie. The tux was perfectly tailored and fit him well. On his arm at the Emmys was his long-time girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt.
The 38-year-old funny man was also one of the best dressed of the night. He wore a well-fitting black tux with black shoes, a white dress shirt and a black bow tie. Jimmy still looked handsome even after rolling around the aisles with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
The actor gets the award for one of the worst dressed of the night. His black pants didn't fit properly, his black jacket was too small and the brown scuffed up shoes just looked a mess. To top it off, his hair was spiked up and looked atrocious.
The country crooner rarely disappoints on the red carpet and his ensemble at the 2012 Emmys was no different. There to support his wife, Nicole Kidman, for her Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie, he wore a well-tailored black suit, black shoes, black tie and white dress shirt.
The former "Friends" star looked handsome as he walked the red carpet in a black suit, black shoes, white dress shirt and a gray skinny tie. He was also sporting the salt-and-pepper hair which looks really good on him.
The "American Horror Story" actor landed himself on the worst dressed list with the overall sloppiness of his look. His gray suit was ill-fitting, his black bow tie didn't match and he obviously skipped on the white undershirt considering his light colored dress shirt was sweat soaked. A big disappointment from such an attractive guy.
The actor looked chic and stylish in a black suit, black dress shirt, black shoes and a black and white striped tie. He was also sporting some sexy facial scruff. His date for the evening was his wife, Brooke Burke Charvet.
