Laetitia Casta was one of the best dressed women at the Venice Film Festival.

The 2012 Venice International Film Festival kicked off on August 29 with the opening ceremony and the premiere of "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" and will continue on until September 8. As with many celeb-studded events, fashion is a focus. Despite the huge crowds, a handful of stars managed to outshine everyone else on the red carpet. We already deemed Kate Hudson and Violante Placido the most stylish celebs on kickoff day, but who were some of the other best dressed ladies from the first half of the Venice International Film Festival?

Laetitia Casta

The French actress redeemed herself after wearing an awful black sheer lace Dolce & Gabbana gown to the premiere of "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" on August 29. At the premiere of "The Master" on September 1, she was decked out in a lovely peach Elie Saab gown that had gold embellishments across the bodice and sprinkled over the skirt. The peach shoes were a bit unattractive, but they could have been worse. She wore her hair down, which was a great choice with this dress.

Alessandra Mastronardi

The 26-year-old Italian actress donned an incredible off-white Alessandra Rich gown that had peplum detailing and a lace skirt. Her hair was half-up and in loose waves that flowed over her shoulders. A silver metallic belt, bright red lipstick, bracelets and striped heels finished off the look. It's rare that we come across a look where we can say there's nothing wrong with it, but from her hair to the heels, it was absolute perfection.

Winona Ryder

The brainy "Little Women" actress attended the premiere of "The Iceman" and looked gorgeous in a black strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown with black Christian Louboutin heels. While black gowns on the red carpet usually make us yawn, the lace detailing and slight sparkle was exquisite and certainly grabbed our attention. She finished off the look with dangling jeweled earrings, a black clutch and hot red lipstick that complemented her features beautifully.

Kasia Smutniak

The Polish actress has been taking over the red carpet at the festival with her incredible fashion choices and it was no different when she attended the premiere of "The Master." She wore a short sleeve nude chiffon Valentino gown that had floral embroidery from top-to-bottom and a skinny bow tied around the waist. Kasia wore her hair up for the occasion and opted for neutral makeup. The beauty has the honor of being the host of the opening and closing nights of the event.

Maika Monroe

This girl has style! The blonde 18-year-old stunner stole the show at the "At Any Price" premiere with her white Marchesa short-sleeve gown that had feathered detailing and a tulle bottom. It was the perfect touch of glamor without going overboard. The only problem we have with the look is the side braid she was sporting. Why she chose a braid with this dress we have no idea, but long, soft waves would have been a much better pick. On her arm for the evening was her "At Any Price" co-star, Zac Efron.

Which red carpet look from the first half of the Venice International Film Festival is your favorite?
