The 2013 People's Choice Awards took place on January 9 and although many were excited to see if their favorite star was going to walk away with an award, they were anxiously waiting to see what the celebs were going to wear on the red carpet. This year, there were a couple of surprise names on the best dressed list as well as some dresses that you fell in love with the more you looked at them. So who were the best dressed at the 2013 People's Choice Awards?

Taylor Swift

Everyone is raving about how lovely the songstress looked at the awards ceremony and despite the simplicity of the dress, she gets the award for the best dressed of the evening. As she got up to accept her award for Favorite Country Artist, many viewers were likely holding their breath hoping that she wasn't going to have a wardrobe malfunction thanks to the dangerously plunging neckline of her white Ralph Lauren gown. We can only wonder if Harry Styles is kicking himself.

Kayley Cuoco

The host of the 2013 People's Choice Awards did several wardrobe changes, but it's the pale pink Christian Siriano dress with a plunging neckline and tulle overlay that really had us talking. It almost crosses that line into way too girly, but after looking at the exquisite detailing, you can't help but love it. The only issue is that she should have worn her hair up.

Julianne Hough

The actress/singer/dancer is one of those who wore a dress that at first may come across as too much but definitely grows on you until you adore it. She wore a blue and silver embellished Tony Ward dress that sparkled from top-to-bottom. Considering the glittering of the dress, she opted for no accessories. She finished off the look with silver Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Naomi Watts

The blonde beauty walked the red carpet wearing an Alexander McQueen gown that consisted of a gold sequin front panel and a black skirt. The gown also had a multi-colored crystal neckline which it definitely didn't need. Her hair was in an updo for the event and she opted for neutral makeup.

Lea Michele

The "Glee" star wore a pink Elie Saab dress to the 2013 People's Choice Awards, and yet again, this is an example of a dress that doesn't get you right away. However, in the end, it turns out it's a fabulous frock and the actress looked beautiful in it. As pretty as the dress is, it would have looked better if it were a bit longer and had a belt around the waist. The 26-year-old walked away with an award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.

Rachael Leigh Cook

The actress decided to stray from the standard cocktail dress attire for this awards show and opted for a gorgeous strapless aqua Olivier Tolentino gown that had a sweetheart neckline. Unfortunately, she failed in the accessories department when she went with a chunky silver necklace and a black clutch, both of which don't go well with this ensemble at all. Regardless, her choice of gown was spot-on.

Sound off! Who gets your vote for the best dressed at the 2013 People's Choice Awards?
