According to an interview with The Associated Press, the singer, who is the heaviest contestant on the new season, is very committed to losing some of his 462 pounds. In fact, he didn't even enjoy one last indulgence before heading to the ranch!
"You know, the funny thing is, I was actually working the night before, so I didn't get an opportunity to have a pig-out session, no," Studdard said. "I actually flew from a concert to the ranch. ... I'm sure I probably would have had a piece of cake or something before I went up to the ranch for months and months."
Studdard says that after the show he plans to record his sixth album and "give every day of my life some Ruben time."
"That's what I've been taught, as you know. I have to get up every day and give myself the two hours that I need to keep myself together before I even get into any music stuff, and that's just going to have to be how I do it," Studdard said.
The Biggest Loser returns Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on NBC.
