The "American Idol" Season 12 finale takes place on Thursday, May 16 and we've got the inside scoop on what's going down as Candice Glover and Kree Harrison "duet" it out for the show's top honors. Here what you can expect on the "Idol" season finale.

Angie Miller will sing an original song. The top three finalist may have peaked early when she performed her original tune, "You Set me Free," early in the season(the judges kept comparing her subsequent performances to the piano-accompanied ballad), but on finale night she'll back with her signature song. According to "Idol" spoiler site MJ's Big Blog, Angie's mom tweeted -- then deleted -- that her 18-year-old daughter will be performing the song on the finale. Mama Miller also dished that the song will be released on iTunes shortly afterward.

There will be musical guests galore. According to Deadline, former "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez will return to the "Idol" stage to debut her new single "Live It Up" on the Season 12 finale, while current judge Mariah Carey will reportedly sing a medley of her hit songs. After a season of guest performances from "Idol" alums such as Scotty McCreery and Carrie Underwood, it's been leaked to the Hollywood Reporter that Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert will turn up to duet with Angie Miller. The Band Perry and legendary crooner Frankie Valli are also on the guest list, and Korean pop sensation Psy is slated to perform his song "Gentleman." (C'mon, you've heard enough "Gangnam Style" by now, haven't you?)

Expect some sort of tribute to Randy Jackson. The show's last remaining original judge announced that he was stepping down from his 12-year judging stint, so a proper goodbye is in order. While nothing has been officially announced regarding Jackson's final night on the show, in 2010 departing judge Simon Cowell got the red carpet treatment, including a tribute song in his honor performed by dozens of "Idol" alums, and a moving goodbye speech from ex-"Idol" judge Paula Abdul. The show's loyal top dawg (he outlasted them all!) deserves nothing less.

Prepare for ballad-style coronation songs. The annual "Idol" coronation song translates to the winner's first single. According to The Idol Pad, Kree Harrison's song is titled "I Am Beautiful," while Candice Glover's is "All Cried Out." Sounds like a pair of ballads on an already ballad-heavy season, but let's not judge a song by its title! Either way, with Kree and Candice's powerhouse voices, both songs should be winners.

The "American Idol" Season 12 finale airs May 15 and 16 on FOX.
