‘American Idol’ Finale: Former Idols Winners React to Phillip Phillips’ Win

132 million votes, a full house at the Nokia Theatre, big name musical guests and a marriage proposal: This was your "American Idol" finale.

The jam-packed two hour event featured a steady succession of music and sequined special guests before the Season 11 winner was crowned during the final minutes of the show.

The star-studded roster included Rihanna, Chaka Kahn, Neil Diamond, Reba McEntire, and "Idol" judge Steven Tyler's, Aerosmith. Top 2 contestants Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez also shared the spotlight-- with their own idols.

Phillips joined Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty to sing the CCR classics "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" and "Bad Moon Rising, while Sanchez joined singer Jennifer Holliday for the song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going."

In addition to the music, Season 5 finalist Ace Young took the stage to propose marriage to third season runner-up Diana DeGarmo, complete with a jewelry store plug. (Yes, she said yes!)

But the highlight of the show was the announcement of 21-year old Phillip Phillips as the latest "American Idol" winner. Phillips beat out 16-year old Jessica Sanchez for the recording contract prize. A humbled Phillips reprised his "potential winning song," Drew Pearson's "Home," before breaking down in his parents' arms.

As for his status as the show's fifth-in-a-row WGWG winner (that's white guy with guitar), Phillips plans to bring something different to the table than previous cute, white male "Idol" winners David Cook, Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen and Scotty McCreery.

Phillips told Access Hollywood, "I feel like I'm different than the other guys. They're great guys, I met a few of them, but I don't really play just the regular chords. I like doing something different with the guitar and different with the music, so hopefully, people enjoy it."

Last season's "American Idol" winner, Scotty McCreery, took to Twitter to congratulate Phillips: "Passed the torch on to a well deserving artist, @PPhillipsAI11…take it all in and enjoy it man! Tonight your life has changed forever!"

Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks tweeted : "I knew from your audition...Congrats@PPhillipsAI11 !! And @jsanchezAI11...GIRL you better SANG! You'll both be so great! Soak it all in!!"

Season 2 winner Ruben Studdard tweeted: "Congratulations to Phillip may God bless you with a long prosperous career."

And Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks took to Twitterverse with this message: "@PPhillipsAI11You Are the Man!! Congrats bro welcome to the winners family!!! Congrats to all the contestants this year!‪#Idol"
