The Killing may not actually be dead yet.

Despite canceling the series back in July, AMC might bring back one of its most polarizing shows for a third season, Deadline.com reports.

After hearing a strong third season pitch from executive producer Veena Sud, AMC is working out a deal with Netflix that would see the online streaming site share costs for Season 3, which would likely go into production in February should the deal go through. The Killing would air on AMC first before becoming available on Netflix.

Could The Killing be revived?

When AMC announced The Killing's cancellation in July, the studio issued a statement saying it would "try to find another home for the show." In August, both Netflix and DirecTV were reportedly in negotiations with Fox Television Studios, which produces The Killing, to pick it up for a third season.

The news comes after Hell on Wheels' renewal, the fate of which was up in the air following the exit of showrunner John Shiban.
