Alec Baldwin Fights For Circus Animal Rights

Alec Baldwin and PETA are teaming up this Friday, releasing a video expose concentrating on the alleged beatings that elephants suffer in the circus.

Alec Baldwin Kicked Off Flight

"It's hard to believe anyone would have to be dragged kicking and screaming into show business," says Alec. "But for the elephants … that's exactly what happens."

Jada Pinkett, Cloris Leachman and Jillian Michaels also have sided with PETA in the controversy. The release of Alec's expose comes as "The Greatest Show on Earth", Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, makes its return to New York.

A spokesperson for Ringling Bros. gave a statement to TheInsider.com, wherein they claim that the new video features "old, and in many cases altered footage, with the opinions of a veterinarian who has never actually physically examined any Ringling Bros. elephant." The statement then goes on to say, ""Everyone with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is very proud of our human and animal partnerships. The physical and behavioral needs of all our animals are a top priority that can be seen in every city we visit. All of our animals are trained using a system of repetition and reward, and elephants and horses are transported in custom built, specially-designed train cars. The health and vitality of our animals is something we can showcase at every Ringling Bros. performance."
