Taylor Swift and Garrett Hedlund Have Nashville Dinner Date

The joke is getting a bit old at this point, but going on even a single date with Taylor Swift is basically ensuring some lasting pop cultural cachet, as you're all but guaranteed to have a song written about you at some point in the future.

The latest to sign up for an eventual Taylor Swift Break-up Song (unless this nascent relationship ends up lasting forever) is "Tron: Legacy" and "Country Strong" star Garrett Hedlund.

Hedlund, who had been linked to his "Strong" co-star Leighton Meester, shared a dinner -- described as a "romantic date" by Us Weekly -- in Nashville on April 1.

"It was their first time going out," a source told Us. "They've been e-mailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together."

Somewhat creepily, Us notes the date began at 8 p.m. and Hedlund was back at his hotel by 12:30 a.m.

Hedlund is in Nashville recording a country album, which means perhaps these two can shake up the usual Swift formula and record a break-up song together.
