Kim Kardashian's high-powered lawyer, Laura Wasser, is defending the romance-addicted reality star's honor amid a public backlash and accusations from a former publicist that her televised wedding was staged.

"Our office did indeed negotiate and prepare a prenup for Ms. Kardashian," Wasser, famously close-to-the-vest, tells TMZ. "Given what I know regarding that document, it is not plausible that this marriage was a sham."

As Wasser tells it, prenup negotiations between Kardashian and Kris Humphries were "prolonged" and covered financial concerns "that go well into the future." (The document is allegedly 30 pages long. Kim gets to keep everything. Even, most likely, the $2 million ring.)

Meanwhile, Kardashian is threatening to sue a shady ex-publicist, Jonathan Jaxson, for blabbing to the media that he suspects her 72-day marriage was a hoax. Funny, nobody's raised that theory yet.
