Dr. Drew Pinsky: Ashton And Demi Were ‘Doomed From The Beginning’

Dr. Drew Pinsky says he's not surprised by the marital demise of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

"That was doomed from the beginning, I'm afraid," Pinsky told The Famous in an interview Friday afternoon. "And it's sad. But then they tried to make it work. I believe they really gave it a good try but this was so deeply flawed. The setup was so not going to work that it eventually came around and go 'em."

Moore, 49, is choosing to focus on her work and three daughters. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old Kutcher -- tagged as a cheater following reports of infidelity -- tweeted a somber response to Moore's divorce announcement, writing: "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

"He tried. I really believe they both tried," said Pinsky, addiction specialist and host of TV shows including "Celebrity Rehab" and "Lifechangers." "And he tried to be something he's not. And she tried to make him something he's not. ... They idealize one another, they want to live this perfect thing, but that's not who either of them are. It's not real. And real eventually comes to bear."
