Did Kim Kardashian Audition Danilo Gallinari Before Settling on Kris Humphries?
Call her the Tom Cruise of reality stars.
A source tells the blog Wetpaint that Kim Kardashian allegedly "pulled a Cruise" and conducted a casting call of sorts for her significant other. First on her list: NOT KRIS HUMPHRIES. It was basketball player Danilo Gallinari, then a forward on the New York Knicks. Kardashian had been eyeing East Coast athletes (naturally) to appear with her on the first season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York," which premiered in January 2011.
And so -- allegedly -- a representative from E!, purveyor of all shows Kardashian -- called up the Knicks and propositioned Gallinari. He didn't take the bait. Via Wetpaint:
Gallinari — then 22 to Kim's 30 — was told that such a move would be good for his career and that he would garner lots of media exposure. Gallinari declined, saying he would be happy to meet Kim but wasn't interested in dating or being a reality-show star. E! had "no comment" when we called them.
Following Gallinari's thanks-but-no-thanks, Kardashian took up with now-husband and New Jersey Net Kris Humphries, raising the question: did she make an offer he couldn't refuse? Based on reports -- and Kardashian's own admission -- of a less than ideal marriage, perhaps the reality-TV empress should have shopped around some more before settling on the smack-talking 26-year-old.
