Conspiracy Theory: Was The Kardashian Wedding One Giant Hoax?

Day Two of Kardashmageddon. Theories abound as the dust settles on the demise of the 72-day fairytale marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

The most intriguing theory? That the whirlwind wedding was all one big hoax strategically staged to make Kardashian klan even richer. A source tells Radar the reality star was "never in love" with Humphries, and vice versa. However, "Kim was hopeful that over time, the two of them would fall in love after they got married."

Wait, there's more.

Here's the money quote, via an insider close to the E! reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians:

It was pretty much an arranged marriage right from the start. Kim was looking for a husband and Kris was selected for her, amongst others. She wasn't really into him but she hoped she would be able to develop some feelings, but it never happened. She was never particularly attracted to him, and by all accounts absolutely hated sleeping with him or even having to make out with him.

The whole wedding was a total hoax and a publicity stunt. It was great for ratings and it was an amazing money maker. That's it though, period. Kris turned out to not be as malleable as everyone hoped he would be, he was pictured out partying with other girls, Kim really couldn't care less for him, she decided to end it.

That certainly lends credence to Wetpaint.com's report last week alleging that Kardashian initially eyed ex-New York Knick Danilo Gallinari to be her reality-TV partner -- before settling on Humphries. (Gallinari reportedly declined.)

By the numbers, the televised Kardashian-Humphries royal wedding most likely panned out the way Kris Jenner dreamed it: the whole affair cost $10 million (not that they actually paid for anything) and the couple netted $18 million through partnerships with such outlets as E! ($15 million for the wedding special) and People ($300,000 for the engagement announcement.)

Kardashian might say she agonized over her decision to file for divorce -- but, privately, she could very well be laughing all the way to the bank. Some people are threatening to sue.
