Christopher Walken Gets A Lawyer For Natalie Wood Probe

The unsolved mystery surrounding the 1981 death of Natalie Wood is coming back to haunt Christopher Walken. The Hollywood Reporter says the actor has hired a lawyer following the reopening of an investigation into what happened the night Wood went missing from a boat off the coast of Catalina Island; she'd been partying aboard the "Splendour" with Walken, her co-star in the movie "Brainstorm," and Robert Wagner, her husband. The "West Side Story" star's lifeless body was later found floating a mile away in the ocean.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Walken's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, will advise him on the case; meanwhile, Walken is expected to cooperate fully with authorities. Wagner is reportedly not a suspect, although Wood's sister and the boat captain hold the 81-year-old actor responsible. The death was initially ruled an accidental drowning.
