Brad Pitt Thinks ‘Happiness Is Overrated’

A possible explanation for the troubling return of Brad Pitt's facial scruff: He is depressed. Unhappy. In a funk.

"I think happiness is overrated, truthfully," he tells Australia's "60 Minutes." "I do. I think sometimes you're happy, sometimes you're not. There's too much pressure to be happy. I don't know. I don't really give a (bleep). I know I will be at times and I know I won't be at times. Satisfied, at peace, those would be more goals for myself."

When asked, "Is Brad Pitt content today?" he responds, "Content. OK, I will go with content. Uh, I dare say so. I probably won't be next week."

(Money and fame do not buy happiness, as we've all learned from "Citizen Kane" and movies like that! But not "Tower Heist." We digress. Brad Pitt: We like your honesty.)

Other revelations from the "60 Minutes" interview: A) the 47-year-old matinee idol wants to quit acting in three years so he can focus on behind-the-scenes things like producing; B) he suggests he and Angelina Jolie are not yet "finished" having children; and C) he reveals he gets "hot about" paparazzi trailing his kids around. But the trade-off, he says, is "they get to see the world."
