Is Jon Hamm Having Throat Surgery This Week?

Jon Hamm debuted a new full beard at the 65th Emmy Awards on Sunday, but it looks like he might need to shave it off soon … for surgery.

The "Mad Men" actor, 42, is set to go under the knife for throat surgery in Boston later this week, Life & Style reports.

"[Hamm's 'Mad Men' co-star] January Jones was talking about it at the Fox Emmys afterparty last night," a source tells the mag, which reports that he has two large polyps on his vocal cords that need to be removed.

A source tells omg! that Hamm was also discussing his upcoming surgery last night at the post-Emmys "Losers Party" that he co-hosted with Amy Poehler at Soho House in West Hollywood. However, the source adds that the situation isn't terribly dramatic, and he was never coughing up blood as Life & Style reports.

Jon's rep has yet to respond to omg!'s request for comment.

As for Jon and Amy's bash, their "Losers Party" ended up being one of the hottest tickets in town Sunday night. Emmy-nominated losers got in for free, but Emmy winners had to pay $1,000 each, all of which was donated to World Wide Orphans. They ended up raising more than $30,000 for the nonprofit organization.

Emmy-writing winner Tina Fey was there to support her close friends, along with losers that included Jimmy Kimmel, Zooey Deschanel, and Elisabeth Moss. At one point during the evening, Jon and Amy toasted the losers with personally engraved bottles of Johnnie Walker Scotch.

On Friday night, Hamm kicked off Emmys weekend with the rest of his "Mad Men" crew by throwing a soiree at Chateau Marmont, where he stayed close to his longtime love, Jennifer Westfeldt.
