Jane Lynch raps Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’

Jane Lynch is no stranger to covering songs -- she does it all the time on "Glee." But Coach Sylvester tends to be more of a Madonna girl, so it was surprising for us to learn that Lynch will be covering rapper Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" on an upcoming show.

But in an interview with Conan O'Brien this week, the 52-year-old actress proved she could bust out some phat tunes on command after telling the host that she sat next to Minaj at Elton John's Oscar party last month. When O'Brien asked if Lynch could still remember the lyrics of her new "Glee" cover song, the Emmy winner then proceeded to close her eyes and do an impressive chunk of the 2010 tune.

"It took me so long," she said afterwards. "I worked so hard on that."

And Conan and his audience weren't the only ones who were impressed with Lynch's skills.

"*Salutes Jane Lynch* WORK!!!!!!!! :-)" Minaj tweeted Wednesday night.

"Super Bass" was the fifth single from the "American Idol" judge's album "Pink Friday." According to Minaj, the song's lyrics refer to a flirtation between a guy and a girl who likes him.

"'Super Bass' is about the boy that you are crushing over," she told MTV in 2011. "And you kind of want to get your mack on, but you're taking the playful approach."

Lynch isn't the only celeb who loves "Super Bass." Taylor Swift rapped a verse from the song on Nashville's 107.5 The River radio station in 2011..

"I’ve been listening to it on repeat and I really freak my friends out because I can recite every single lyric to the rap," she said after requesting the track be played.

Reportedly on the same day, Selena Gomez recorded herself rapping to "Super Bass" and uploaded the video to her official YouTube account. But ever the show woman, she was sure to skip the expletives for her younger fans.

Justin Bieber's ex covered the song once again in an interview with MuchMusic several months later after the audience begged her to.

"Only if y'all do it with me," she said, before she launched into the rap along with the audience.

We wonder what the Biebs thought of it!
