Amanda Bynes shaves half her head

It seems that Drake is not the only musician worthy of Amanda Bynes's love -- pop star Cassie Ventura also has a fan in the troubled star. On Thursday, Bynes took to Twitter to upload a photo of her new hair style: a half-shaved bleached blond up do, which she credited to "Paradise" singer for inspiring it.

"I buzzed half my head like @cassie! No more old photos! This is the new me! I love it!" Bynes tweeted on Thursday.

Ventura is a 26-year-old singer who you may remember for her hit 2006 tune "Me & U." Also a model, she is considered a style icon and is credited with kicking off the shaved-head trend in 2009, which inspired the likes of Rihanna, Ke$ha, and Avril Lavigne to buzz their heads.

"When I first did it, it was just for a change," Ventura told MTV last year. "I just wanted to do something for me that kind of set me apart."

The songstress, who previously sported conventional long black hair, debuted the new 'do on Twitter in April 2009.

“Sometimes in life, you need a change,” Cassie tweeted. “Something that displays the 'I don’t give a f---' attitude that was always present, but never showcased. Something deeper than what you thought you were capable of. And something that will shock your mother, but make her call you a ROCK STAR.”

These days she rocks a slight variation on the theme -- a mohawk-style mane.

What do you think of Bynes's Cassie-inspired look?
