Amanda Bynes posts bizarre YouTube video, goes on (another) Twitter rant

It was already established that Amanda Bynes has an very unusual Twitter feed, which she uses to post selfies, declare her love for rapper Drake, deny rumours that she’s flying off the deep end, and post more selfies.

But the Internet got even stranger on Monday when 26-year-old Bynes added another element of crazy to the world wide web: a short video titled “I’m Sucking On A Sour Patch Kid Listening To Music Getting Ready For Tonight.” In it, Bynes appears in her bathroom mirror with messy bleached blonde hair, her frosted pink lips in a pucker while bobbing her head to an electronic soundtrack. It’s hard to put into words, so watch it here:

And this was even before she went on a Twitter rant against Complex magazine for writing untrue articles about her:

"@ComplexMag Stop acting like I'm doing something wrong. I'm obsessed with myself on twitter. Also, my video last night was perfection. I'm so sick of the articles u write about me. I want every fake article deleted. Ur d--- whipped by my ugly ex @ducidni who's looks and talent have always been questionable to me, him being the ugly duckling that he is and all. U quote him non stop, then take professional shots of him for ur covers, his best photos aren't s--- compared to mine at my best. The photo u chose of Aubrey for her cover is awful. You make people look bad, stop acting like you know anything about what men like. I don't stop getting follwed or hit on every place I go. I'm not trying to sing, but if I did (I got offered an Interscope record deal right after I filmed Hairspray which you might know if you sat down and did a normal interview. I still might take them up on their offer) get the facts as opposed to talking s---. My music is going to be sicker then whatever the f--- kind of music Scott tries to do. Stop writing articles without speaking to me first. "

Yes, Bynes has been displaying alarmingly weird behaviour – but then again, she’s always been a bit of an odd duck. “The Amanda Show” capitalized on her wacky sense of humour and penchant for accents, fart jokes, and antisocial characters.

In fact, let’s go way back to 1996, in a video of Bynes when she was only 10 years old at the Laugh Factory. Decked out in an awesome neon pink sweater, the pint-sized comic bursts out onto the stage and wows the crowd with a little jig, eventually calming down and delivering “Maybe I should’ve skipped that thirteenth candy bar.”

Report cards, teachers who want her sent away, un-poppable pimples – it’s all part of Bynes's charmingly odd set. When a very '90s-looking Arsenio Hall describes 10-year-old Bynes with “a lot of future there,” he is right – Bynes is definitely an entertainer.

Unfortunately, her audience is now wincing from the weirdness instead of laughing at it.
