Shortly after Kim Kardashian's doomed nuptials took place in August, the reality star sat down with Marie Claire magazine, gushing about her new hubby -- out-of-work NBA player Kris Humphries -- their relationship, and why she just had to share her (reportedly $20 million) wedding with the world. Jump ahead just a couple of months, and the couple's marriage is already over -- way faster than even the naysayers would have imagined, despite all the warning signs in the world. Whirlwind romance? Check. Televised wedding? Check. Requisite pre-nup? Check.

Plenty of people now think that the entire thing was a sham -- done for cable TV ratings and the all-mighty dollar. Does Kim's post-wedding, pre-split interview offer any clues to whether the 31-year-old beauty is a cold-hearted schemer or simply a victim of bad judgment? You be the judge.

-- As for why she wanted to put the whole shebang on TV via a two-part special episode of her mega-successful E! reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," well, Kim says she did it all for the fans. "I felt like if I didn't show the wedding, it would be upsetting for people who have taken this journey with me," she explained "earnestly," according to the article.

How to Look Great in Every Photo

-- For those wary of the quickie courtship and engagement, Kim had an answer for that one, too: "We felt like, 'Why wait?' It's fun to have a partner who understands your life and lets you be you."

-- She certainly didn't use the interview to start setting the stage for any impending breakup news: "We have a lot of trust, and I don't think either of us would do anything to break that. It makes life so easy. He's such a good guy; he is so down-to-earth, and it's such a reality check. He is a normal guy, and I just want to chill out and be normal and not get glammed up all the time. He gets it. Sometimes my life can be really intimidating for people, but he allows me to work and do what I've gotta do."

-- So being married to someone you met less than a year ago is really problem-free? According to Kim, yes: "I feel like where we're at right now is the best time in my life."

-- And finally, the fabulous Ms. K. reflected on what went wrong in her first marriage (to music producer Damon Thomas, it lasted four years) and how it helped her be a better wife to hubby number two. "I was 19, and I didn't know myself. As unhappy as I was, and as happy as I am now not to be in that relationship, I learned so much from it: who I wanted to be, who I never wanted to be -- you take all those issues and move on. I learned how to cook and do a lot of marital things. It definitely taught me what being a wife is all about. I think it means taking care of each other's needs and being there for someone unconditionally."

Just scratch the "unconditionally" part.
