Anne Hathaway may have cried when she lopped off her locks to play destitute mother Fantine in "Les Misérables," but we bet she's only shedding tears of joy now that her pixie cut has been named the "The Most Influential Haircut of All Time."

In a poll conducted by the Hairdressing Council of Great Britain and Universal Pictures, who asked a thousand people to vote on the most influential onscreen haircut of all time, Hathaway's close-cropped hairdo scored the highest marks against stiff competition.

The 30-year-old actress edged out second place winner Jennifer Aniston and her beachy tresses from "Along Came Polly," Audrey Hepburn's up-do in "Charade," and Veronica Lake's sultry, long waves from "The Blue Dahlia."

Beating out hair icons like Aniston and Hepburn is no easy feat, but according to the poll, droves of women have headed to the hair salon seeking Hathaway's now-signature style.

The Brooklyn, New York, resident definitely isn't the first celeb in Hollywood to rock the short look. Michelle Williams and Halle Berry have been longtime poster girls for the style, with celebs like Miley Cyrus, Charlize Theron, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Maggie Gyllenhaal following suit more recently.

We can't blame them. It's a no muss, no fuss cut that doesn't require a blowout every week.
