Mayim Bialik Announces Divorce From Husband Michael Stone

All that attachment parenting may be beneficial for Mayim Bialik's two kids, but it doesn't seem to have helped her marriage. On Wednesday, it was announced that "The Big Bang Theory" actress split from her husband of nine years, Michael Stone, citing "irreconcilable differences." On the Jewish parenting website Kveller.com, the 36-year-old was adamant that her style of parenting — her sons Miles, 7, and Fred, 4, sleep in the same bed as she and Stone — played no part in the split. "Relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose," wrote Bialik.

In August, the former "Blossom" star told omg! that because of their parenting practices there was "an extra challenge" to find alone time with her husband, whom she met in college, and that the two had not "been on a proper evening date in seven years." When talking about the many misconceptions of attachment parenting, she acknowledged, "Another myth is that the marriage will suffer. I think it's a challenge to marriages…"

It's a challenge Bialik and Stone, who has been a stay-at-home dad, could apparently not overcome. The couple has been homeschooling their two sons (she teaches them Hebrew and piano, while he headed up the boys' scout troop) and plan to continue co-parenting duties. "The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible," Bialik wrote on Wednesday. "Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on."
