Bobbi Kristina is not engaged to adopted brother, says rep

Are congratulations in order or not for Bobbi Kristina Brown? Just a day after Lifetime released a promo clip of her upcoming reality show, "The Houstons: On Our Own," in which the 19-year-old tells her family that she's engaged to her adopted brother Nick Gordon, her rep is now backtracking … kind of.

Although her rep tells CNN that Bobbi Kristina and 22-year-old Gordon are not headed down the aisle, they add, "You have to watch the show!" According to CNN, the young couple may have indeed been engaged when the scene was shot, but after her family's less-than-thrilled reaction, they changed their minds. In the clip, Pat Houston, the wife of Whitney's brother Gary, exclaims, "Engagement? This is unacceptable."

Either way, it ignited a media firestorm for the couple and, of course, their upcoming reality show. So was it just a publicity stunt to get us to watch when the series premieres on October 24?

As for Bobbi Kristina and Gordon, they've remained mum on the exact definition of their relationship. On the teen's Twitter page, she constantly posts photos of them hugging and kissing and showing off the many tattoos they've gotten since Whitney's death in February.

And on Thursday night, the duo attended the "We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston" at the L.A.'s Nokia Theater — where Bobbi Kristina wore not one, but two diamond rings on her left ring finger.
