Over the past 24 hours, Web searches for "lady gagareal name" and "what is lady gaga's real name" have both spikedinto the stratosphere. For the record, her given name is Stefani JoanneAngelina Germanotta.

Gaga earned her nickname in an unusual way: According toproducer Rob Fusari, "(Lady Gaga) was actually a glitch; I typed 'Radio GaGa' in a text and it did an autocorrect so somehow 'Radio' got changed to'Lady.' She texted me back, 'That's it.' After that day, she was LadyGaga."
