Halloween Cattitude

Halloween is right around the corner, and if you're having trouble coming up with an idea for a costume, why not keep it simple and dress up as a cat? You can be cute or scary … or in Kim Kardashian's case, even a little wild. The reality star recently posted a photo of herself trying on a revealing leopard-print catsuit with the caption: "Rawwwr!!! Halloween Costume shopping."

Kardashian may have been inspired to go in search of a feline getup by her new Persian kitten, Mercy, who was given to her by her beau Kanye West in September. "With me being in Miami, Kanye knew I would need some company when he wasn't around, so he surprised me with her," she wrote on her blog. "She's so sweet and the cutest thing ever!"

But not all Halloween kitties are sweet. When Heidi Klum dressed as a cat for her annual Halloween bash in 2007, she was on the scarier side. OK, make that sexy-scary thanks to her fabulous makeup job (complete with whiskers) and clingy catsuit that allowed her to flaunt her purrfect body. Can you believe that at the time, the supermodel was already a mom of three

But don't think your cat

disguise has to be quite as elaborate as Klum's. If you're short on time and money — or don't have the physique of Victoria's Secret model Doutzen Kroes to pull off a skintight Catwoman suit — follow Brooke Shields' lead and throw on a basic pair of ears, black leggings, and a chunky necklace to serve as a collar and … voila! Shields would probably have impressed more had she made the extra effort to draw on some whiskers and a nose. All it takes is a black eye pencil (and maybe a cat mask) to get that extra meow factor. Happy hissing.
