Life got real for "Basketball Wives" star Tami Roman on Monday when the 41-year-old suffered a mild heart attack. According to her publicist, Roman was admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that evening "for a medical emergency" immediately after an online chat she did with VH1 and her fans, during which she revealed she wasn't feeling well.

On Tuesday, Roman — who shot to fame in 1993 as a cast member of "The Real World: Los Angeles" — thanked her fans for their well-wishes. "Never thought I'd have a mild heart attack at 41," she tweeted. "God has a way of bringing things into perspective. Finally going home 2my kids-heart meds and all." The feisty reality star — known for her hair-pulling, drink-throwing fights on "Basketball Wives" — also revealed she would be taking some time off Twitter in an effort to de-stress herself as part of her recovery. "I appreciate ALL the positive energy & the negative 1's-get a life," she added. "I sure appreciate mine."

Roman, who is divorced from NBA all-star Kenny Anderson with whom she has two daughters, is no stranger to drama. Before she began stirring up trouble on "Basketball Wives" as a new cast member during the second season, she was making waves on "The Real World." Fans of the show remember all too well the fight she had with roommate David Edwards when he pulled a blanket off Roman when she was only in her underwear — and she retaliated by throwing the stand-up comedian's brand new shoes in the toilet. Edwards was eventually kicked out of the house after another female roommate compared his actions to "rape." Also that season, Roman caused controversy when she got an abortion while living in the house. She also had her jaw wired shut in order to lose weight.
