Stars Head to the Great White North

There was a time when, for many Americans, Toronto, Canada, just conjured up images of frigid weather and ice hockey. These days, however, the capital of Ontario has become a major player in the entertainment industry as the backdrop for tons of U.S.-produced movies and TV series, which means celebs are now traveling to and from the city to our north nearly as much as Los Angeles and New York.

This week, actors including Ryan Gosling (who hails from London, Ontario), Brad Pitt, Marisa Tomei, and Gerard Butler, descended upon Canada's largest metropolis for the Toronto International Film Festival. Sure, technically, celebs are "working" when they attend these gatherings, but just a day in, many of them managed to squeeze in some fun while they were there, too.

George Clooney, his new gal pal Stacy Keibler, and director Jason Reitman were spotted hanging out at the plush Ritz Carlton, Jon Hamm took a stroll through the swanky shopping district of York ville, while U2 dudes Bono, The Edge, and Bryce Dallas Howard were among the attendees at the festival's opening night bash. With nine more days left, we're sure the party's just getting started ...
