Simon Cowell Cruises the Caribbean
"X Factor" creator Simon Cowell was snapped shirtless while enjoying some downtime in St. Barts with friends aboard the Slipstream, a 197-foot luxury yacht. Is there any other way to cruise the Caribbean? During the winter season, you can charter the fancy boat for anywhere between $392,000 to $441,000 per week. While that seems a bit excessive for the average Joe, it's a drop in the bucket for Cowell, whose estimated worth is around $330 million.
The 52-year-old music mogul -- who was chosen as one of Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating People of 2011 -- is resting up before he gets back to work in England. Homesick Cowell announced this week that he will be returning as a full-time judge on "Britain's Got Talent" this spring. "I miss Britain and I miss the British public and I miss judging them. I want to find the next generation of talent in 2012. By coming back in 2012, it's the year of the Olympics," he continued. "It's a big year for Britain, we are going to be in the world's spotlight, and I want this show to be back in the world spotlight."
Of course, he's also hoping to discover the next Justin Bieber, or even a talented pet. "I've always dreamt about finding a dog who can play guitar. And we've failed. So I want talented dogs. I really want one that can dance or can play an instrument."
In his quest to find that guitar-playing canine, Cowell is going as far to contribute $410,000 out of his own pocket, which will double the "Britain's Got Talent" winner's prize. When you're Simon Cowell, what's $400K? It's just a week's vacay!
