Shania and Taylor Play ‘Thelma and Louise’

Country queens Shania Twain and Taylor Swift channeled one of the most famous duos in film history -- the lead characters in 1991's "Thelma and Louise" -- on Monday. No, the two weren't really on a road trip to escape the police ... although that would make for one crazy story! They were filming a parody video to kick off Wednesday's 2011 CMT Music Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

Wearing big sunglasses while cruising in a vintage blue convertible, the singers portrayed the roles made famous by Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. "Glee's" Chord Overstreet also joined them on the video's set in Thompson's Station, Tennessee. Perhaps he played the part that once belonged to a little-known actor named Brad Pitt?

The reenactment comes on the heels of the movie's 20th anniversary. On Monday, Sarandon and Davis even made an appearance at Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox for a special screening of the film to raise money for the Women's College Hospital Foundation, a charity that supports women's health.

This year's CMT Music Awards will mark Twain's first time at the event in seven years. The "From This Moment On" diva recently returned to the spotlight to promote her autobiography, her show on OWN, and her new music.

Pop music fans should also note that Justin Bieber is set to take the stage. The teen heartthrob, plus "American Idol's" Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, are among those scheduled to present awards. Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, and more will perform.

Don't forget to tune in to the 2011 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT!
