Green Day debuts ‘The Forgotten’ music video from ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ soundtrack

"Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2" may not be in theaters until November 16, but fans can get a taste of what to expect in the final installment thanks to the new Green Day music video for "The Forgotten," which is from the film's soundtrack. In between clips of the band recording the ballad in the studio and performing live in concert, scenes of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and their daughter Renesmee flash on the screen.

In one, Edward is teaching his daughter how to play piano as Bella looks on. In another, the human-turned vampire jumps off a cliff as she embraces her new life as undead. "Where in the world is the forgotten?" Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong sings during another clip where Bella and Edward are running through a forest. "Like soldiers from a long-lost war/We share the scars from our abandon/What we remember becomes folklore."

The introspective lyrics and somber mood of the song and video are also a nod to the state of Green Day. The band recently announced it was canceling all of its upcoming tour dates through February 2013 as Armstrong seeks treatment for undisclosed "substance abuse." He entered rehab last month after going on an anti-Justin Bieber tirade during Green Day's shortened set at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. "You're gonna give me one minute?!" he yelled into the mic on September 22. "I've been around since f--king nineteen eighty f--king eight, and you're gonna give me one minute?! You've gotta be f--king kidding me! I'm not f--king Justin Bieber, you motherf--kers!" … and then Armstrong, 40, smashed his guitar to pieces.

Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt addressed the band's canceled tour dates in a press release: "Obviously, the timing for this isn't ideal, but Billie Joe's well-being is our main concern."
